CDEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY MEDICINE

The Emergency Department has been designed to enhance every aspect of the patient-centered care experience. This clinical area features the latest technologies in health care to complement our Emergency physicians, Nurses and other health care providers.

We focus on the immediate decision making and action necessary to prevent death or any further disability both in the pre-hospital setting by directing emergency medical technicians and in the emergency department. The emergency physician provides immediate recognition, evaluation, care, stabilization, and disposition of a generally diversified population of adult and paediatric patients in response to acute illness and injury. The care provided by the Emergency physician is episodic in nature and involves a full spectrum of physical and behavioural conditions.

This Department is responsible for the provision of medical and surgical care to patients arriving at the hospital in need of immediate care. Emergency department personnel who form MEDICAL EMERGENCY TEAM (MET) respond to certain situations within the hospital such cardiac/respiratory arrests

The Emergency Department is also called the Emergency Room or ER

Being an independent clinical unit of the hospital, it has 15 beds and is the best example of organized Emergency Medicine. Every Emergency Physician is trained appropriately in the latest and correct methods of cardiopulmonary, trauma and paediatric resuscitation skills. This makes them the best doctors to teach first aid and CPR skills.
